In addition, I have also created a Facebook Page and a Facebook Group specifically dedicated to empowering and equipping Pinoy writers to write, publish, and promote their books.

If you’re a Filipino indie author or writer, come join us! You’re welcome — whether you write in English, Taglish, or Tagalog. We’re all in this together!

1. In three words, describe yourself as an author.

Cyberspace. Inspirational. Critical.

2. Could you talk about the significance of titles in your works? How do you usually come up with them?

The romance genre captivates me with its enchanting love stories that embody the essence of my dream relationships. Each page unfolds a tapestry of emotions, passion, and connection that resonates deeply within me.

In contrast, as a crime fiction author, I find myself irresistibly drawn to the intricate world of cybercrimes. My background in Information and Communications Technology plays a significant role in shaping my narratives, allowing me to weave together thrilling plots that explore the dark and fascinating intersections of technology and crime.

3. In what ways do you think your writing has evolved or changed since your first published work?

My writing style underwent a profound transformation, evolving exponentially as a direct result of my enriching experiences in various writing classes. Each class offered unique insights and perspectives, pushing me to explore new techniques and styles that I had never considered before. The constructive feedback from peers and instructors alike helped to refine my voice
and deepen my understanding of the craft, ultimately shaping me into a more confident and versatile writer.

4. What role do beta readers or editors play in your writing process, and how do you handle feedback and criticism?

Beta readers and editors are the unsung heroes of the literary world. They possess a keen eye for detail, skillfully identifying gaps in the narrative and offering invaluable suggestions to enhance the story’s depth and flow. With their insightful feedback, I was able to embrace constructive criticism, allowing me to enrich my tale through thoughtful additions and carefulrevisions. Their guidance transformed my work, turning it into a more compelling and polished piece.

5. Can you share any sneak peeks or hints about your upcoming projects or works-in-progress?

In my forthcoming novels, I will explore the intricate world of cybercrimes, peeling back the layers of digital deception and illicit activities that lurk in the shadows of the internet. I will also shine a light on the provocative subject of ghost projects, where ambition collides with controversy, uncovering the hidden agendas and ethical dilemmas that surround these enigmatic undertakings.

Mayumi Cruz The Inquisitor COVER

THE INQUSITOR

In the year 2132, there are only three hundred men left on Earth. Each of us old, diseased, damaged beyond healing. There are no women. Out of nowhere, a young, virile, perfect male arrives—the Inquisitor. He demands the truth behind the Purge which massacred females in a global scale to enforce the long-delayed justice by killing the guilty. And though it pains me to no end, I am forced to remember the horror and the lunacy of the past. . . and the part he unknowingly played in it. I am Ambrose. I am Herald.
