What Readers Say About My Books
* organic Reviews * More reviews on individual book pages

If I could give this book more than 5* I would. I became totally invested in the characters, It was brilliant. So many twists and turns, it kept me hooked to the very end. I confess I didn't see the ending coming at all. Well done Mayumi Cruz and thank you for a brilliant book. - Donna ; Goodreads reviewer

“The Prince and I” unfolds like a cinematic experience, with vivid details and dramatic flair. Mayumi’s intricate worldbuilding captivates readers with richly detailed settings, complex magical spells, and motivated characters, drawing them into a fully realized and immersive universe. In the story, the setting also played a significant role in plot advancement and exploration of themes like power struggles and coexistence between humans and mythical beings. The book balances action scenes with dialogue and description, ensuring a mix of showing and telling. - MJ Blancaflor, Metro News Central

My first book by the author that I thoroughly enjoyed. In such a short story Mayumi Cruz managed to turn a romantic dinner into a crime without us even suspecting it. A very enjoyable work highly recommended. I'll look forward to reading a lot more books by the author. - Angela Peixoto, Goodreads reviewer

My two favorite books from the week were It's not Just Semantics and Duke by Default. In both cases, the female characters were working through their own personal struggles and the relationship itself was a companion story line. I loved the focus on independence and the renegotiation of independence as the relationships developed. This approach to writing relationship dynamics is why I encourage everyone to read ROMANCE!!!! - Weekend Reader

I enjoyed the simplicity of this story. Like a book from the not-too-distant past, the words flow around a plot and descriptions of main characters. Sexual tension is there, developing and drawing the reader's interest without blatantly raw descriptions. - KindlBS, Amazon reviewer

ABOUT ME

Welcome to my website. I’m Mayumi Cruz and I’m an author and an artist.

As an author, I write in a variety of genres, mixing and blending them in my plots. Twists and turns, mayhem and mystery, kisses and angst, laughter, and tears make up most of my books. My books, Chroma Hearts, a psychological thriller, and The Black Widow, a Philippine mythology urban fantasy horror, have received awards and recognition. Some of my writings have also appeared in Philippines Graphic, Medium, AdHoc Fiction and The Drabble. I have also written the screenplay for “BackPack,” a short indie film on YouTube.

As an artist, I use acrylic and mixed media in my traditional artworks. I also create digital art and graphic designs.

I’m a true blue introvert; I write better than I talk. I’m a book and movie buff, and I have an extremely sweet tooth. I’m an Economics graduate and have a Master of Arts degree in Educational Management. I currently live in the Philippines with my husband, my three sons, and Sparky, our adorable dog.
