ABOUT MAYUMI CRUZ
As a child, Mayumi had been doodling, drawing, and sketching ever since she can remember. She used to make comic strips and painted on illustration boards using poster paints. Slowly, she dabbled in watercolor and oil pastel. When she discovered acrylic, there was no turning back. It’s a great medium for her. She’s now also using various or mixed media in some of her artworks, which add depth to her creations.
Mayumi is basically self-taught, aside from a two-day art workshop she attended many, many years ago — which bored her to death.
Mayumi believes art should tell stories and evoke emotions. Her colors are vivid, vibrant and compelling as the stories they tell.
